Indoor & Outdoor Modeling Session Guide

Thank you for choosing us for your modeling session! This guide will help you prepare, whether you're building a portfolio, working on an editorial concept, or shooting a brand campaign — indoors or outdoors.

Defining Your Vision

Before your session, let's talk about your goals — portfolio building, editorial, or commercial/brand work each call for a slightly different approach to posing, lighting, and styling. If you have a mood board or reference images, please share them ahead of time so we're aligned.

Before Your Session

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so we have time to review your shot list and settle in. If a stylist or makeup artist is joining, we'll coordinate timing in advance.

What to Wear

Bring a range of outfits that reflect your goals for the shoot — the more variety, the more versatile your final gallery.

  • Clashing prints across multiple outfits in the same session

Getting Ready

In the days before your shoot, avoid sunburn, tanning, or drastic beauty changes. Arrive with clean, moisturized skin unless we've planned for makeup application on-site.

What to Bring

  • 2–4 outfit options, freshly steamed or ironed
  • Accessories relevant to your shot list (jewellery, hats, bags)
  • Comfortable shoes to travel in, plus your shoot shoes
  • Makeup for touch-ups
  • Any reference images or mood board printouts

Your Shot List

We'll plan for a mix of headshots, three-quarter shots, full-body shots, and detail shots (hands, accessories, fabric movement) so your final gallery feels complete and versatile.

Indoor Studio Sessions

Studio sessions offer maximum control — ideal for clean portfolio work or bold, high-concept lighting. We'll set up lighting suited to your goals, from soft glamour lighting to something more dramatic for editorial looks, and move through multiple outfit changes efficiently.

Outdoor Sessions

Outdoor sessions bring texture, scale, and storytelling a studio can't replicate. Urban environments suit edgier concepts, while natural landscapes suit softer, high-fashion looks. We'll aim for overcast light or golden hour depending on the mood you're going for, and have a backup location ready in case conditions change.

During the Session

Expect clear, specific direction throughout — the more precise the cues, the more dynamic and natural your poses will look. We'll build movement into your poses rather than static holds, and review shots together periodically so we can adjust styling or direction as we go.

Final Checklist

  • All outfits are clean, pressed, and ready to go
  • Accessories and props are packed
  • Skin and grooming are camera-ready
  • Reference images or mood board shared beforehand
  • You've reviewed the location and travel time
  • You're prepared to arrive 5–10 minutes early
